In 2018, Lisbon was voted the ‘Best City Destination’ in Europe for the third consecutive year, at the 25th World Travel Awards (WTA) - known as the “World Tourism Oscars”. Lisbon won the distinction over 12 European destinations which included Amsterdam, Barcelona, London, Moscow, Geneva, Rome and Venice.
Lisbon is the second oldest city in Western Europe and, as one of the oldest cities in the world, it’s fair to say Lisbon is steeped in history. Its cobbled streets and narrow alleyways sprinkle themselves over the hills and tell a different tale to every passer willing to listen.
